Message from the Dean
Seoul National University should contribute to society by fostering individuals with a global perspective, advancing knowledge, tackling societal challenges, and attaining innovative research outcomes. The College of Human Ecology, which has played a significant role in modern women’s education, has been an integral part of Seoul National University’s history, establishing its own academic field and constantly driving innovative changes through interdisciplinary collaboration. The College of Human Ecology has been conducting top-notch education and research focused on improving the quality of human life, centered around the closest social and physical aspects of human existence, such as family, food, and clothing. It has contributed to society by producing outstanding talents who lead in their respective fields. At a time when the boundaries between disciplines are blurring and advanced technology is shaping the landscape of education and research, the field of Human Ecology is facing various challenges, including environmental concerns, population issues, social integration, and social-divide. The College of Human Ecology actively responds to these challenges, expanding the scope of its academic contributions through integration with cutting-edge fields and internationalization efforts, thus gaining recognition for its value. We hope for your support and participation in the development of the College of Human Ecology at Seoul National University.
